He made blocks of acrylic that had all kinds of debris and junk inside, then cut it in slices. It's really beautiful and interesting up close.






























































































I'll never forget a Mad Magazine cartoon I saw when I was about 10 years old, of what the future would be like and how we were going to deal with a population explosion and garbage proliferation in oh say the year 2000. The cartoon showed a drawing of a building made out of "interesting and colorful" blocks of compressed garbage encased in acrylic. I have that comic saved in my files somewhere. Anyway I remembered that the cartoonist was Al Jaffee, so I googled, and what do you know- he's still coming up with ways to encase waste in acrylic...
