my friend Anastasia dancing with the Greek American Folklore Society in Astoria.

Alyson Shotz at the Guggenheim is magic can't take a picture of the magic though everyone tries.
these are fresnel lenses, which create a sort of holographic effect- multiple images seen through the plastic float a few inches in front of the surface of the sculpture.

looking at art, watching art
31 Grand Gallery opened up a new location on Ludlow Street and downstairs neighbor Karen Heagle had a painting in the show.

Jesper Just has a short haunting film at Perry Rubenstein Gallery The soundtrack is a whistling version of "Nights in White Satin" --so creepy

Andrea Rosen had a show of Kinetic artworks from the 50's and 60's. Just about every piece had a little on/off switch.
